Ski resort marketing for the new reality of 2022

“To create an effective marketing plan this upcoming winter, there are several factors that every resort communicator should consider as the first flakes of the new season come nearer. The first, that a marketing plan must encompass more than ad buys and email campaigns. While those are vital elements of any marketing strategy, a good marketing team knows who it is talking to, both externally and internally, who is doing the talking—hint: it’s not always the PR director—and what really matters when it comes to sharing a brand. Increasing Diversity in Snowshoeing and Snowsports

As we work together as an industry to be more inclusive, one man is also striving to increase participation in snowsports (and the great sport of snowshoeing) by people of color.

Randy Philpotts served as the first youth NBS Alpine Champion in 1974 at Sun Valley, Idaho. Yet, in 1988, despite being the top alpine racer in the NBS, Philpotts shifted from alpine to cross country skiing. That year, he won the first national cross-country classic race of the NBS.

Now, Philpotts has his eye on another snowsport: snowshoeing.
